Whether for work or casual wanderings, having a camera, looking at light and angles, and making unique images is a (healthy?) obsession. Capturing fleeting moments of magic in a scene and creating original viewpoints is the challenge.

Early on, skateboarding, surfing, and snowboarding were the things that lit Lee up; only, he was rubbish at all of them. Not being able to resist the feeling and the lifestyles these pursuits embodied, he stumbled upon a way to stay involved and provide value to the people he respected so highly - the athletes. By having a camera on him, he could tag along with the real talent and catalogue split-second segments of their incredible lives. Freezing moments of exceptional people changing the face of action sports and the scenes surrounding these achievements became his mode of sharing the story of the lifestyle and the community that drives it.

Developing photography skills while shooting action in volatile mountain elements provided a unique learning platform that is now adaptable to any environment. Once you've lugged gear through waist-deep snow and dealt with blizzards, minus ridiculous temperatures and light conditions that change in an instant, any other location is a snap to shoot in. Much of the subject matter displayed features snowsports athletes, but the skills and techniques used on those good people can be employed to good effect in any environment.

Lee’s photographic storytelling is built on authentically showcasing a specific moment in a story to a global audience via a visually striking image. Whether for social media content, editorial catalogues, marketing collateral or any other media outlet the most impactful images are those that are authentic to the subjects they portray and spark something in the viewer.

Having spent many years playing ramen connoisseur in Japan and working with the Japanese Olympic Snowboard Team, Lee is a fluent Japanese speaker and suitably placed to assist with shoots involving Japanese talent or on-location work in Japan.

Lee is based in Melbourne, Australia, but works worldwide.
